The leaders of the camp and hall of parliament forcibly searched the rooms, canceled the residency of 3 people

Chhatra Shibir workers and Hall Sangsad leaders searched a room of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall of Rajshahi University in the early morning on the suspicion that a woman was staying there. In this incident, the residency of three people including the joint secretary (AGS) of that hall has been temporarily cancelled. Apart from this, a show cause notice has been issued to the Vice President (VP) of the hall and a committee has been constituted for further investigation.
The matter has been confirmed in a circular signed by the Principal Professor Mahbubar Rahman at around four o’clock in the morning today.
Those who were punished are the AGS of the parliament. Israfil Hossain, cultural editor. Shakib Zubair and another resident student. Forkan Hafiz. All of them are involved in the politics of branch Islami student camp.
Sources of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall said that on Saturday, a number of camp activists including AGS of Parliament Israfil Hossain conducted a forceful search around 4:30 am on the suspicion that a woman was staying in room number 121 of the hall. Later they returned without finding anyone there. A meeting was held in the office of Principal Professor Mahbubar Rahman yesterday evening regarding the matter. The leaders of the Chhatra Dal and the activists of the Chhatra Dal got into a heated argument with the camp supporters present in the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned due to the absence of a few including the AGS of the hall and resumed later at 11 pm. At this time, University Proctor Professor Mahbubar Rahman was present along with the Principal. After several hours of discussion, the administration temporarily canceled the residency of the three.
In this regard, the notification of the hall administration said that the complaint of women entering room number 121 of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall at approximately five o’clock on Saturday morning has been initially found to be untrue and baseless. The residency of the three students was temporarily canceled and a show-cause notice was issued to Hall VP Mozammel Haque.
Apart from this, the notification also said about the formation of a committee for further investigation. The notification for the formation of the inquiry committee will mention the specific deadline for the prompt submission of the inquiry report.
Narrating the incident, Alim Mridha, a student of the raided room, said that some people, including Israfil, knocked on the door. As they were asleep, the door was late to open. Later they forcefully entered the room and said, there is a girl here. But searched and left without finding anyone.
Sandeep Kumar Sheel, another student of the same room, said, “After opening the door, I saw that they were playing video on their mobile phones. They repeatedly said there was a girl in the room and they would search. Later they forcefully entered the room.’ He complained that despite not getting anything, they were spread false propaganda.
When asked about the complaint, the AGS of the parliament hall, Israfil Hossain, said that he had received information about bringing the girl to the hall from a place. Later went to verify the matter by talking to VP and GS. But nothing like that was found there.
Proctor of the university Mahbubar Rahman said that no one can search the room of a student without the presence of the parliament or the administration. Since this is a hall related matter, the hall administration will take action first. This has happened in the past. However, the current administration is active in this regard. No one will be given an opportunity to harass anyone by creating a mob in any way.
