Feni district youth party committee has suspended the central youth party. At the same time, Feni Paur Jubodal president AKM Zahid Hossain and general secretary Haider Ali Russell Patwari have been expelled from the party. This disciplinary action has been taken after making one of the accused in the case of the attack on the convoy of former Prime Minister and late BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as General Secretary of the newly announced Municipal Ward Committee and internal discipline. A press release informed that the activities of the district committee will be suspended until further orders.

These decisions have been informed in a circular signed by Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy secretary of Central Jubodal on Monday evening.

According to the press release, on April 30, in the announced committee of the 4th Ward of Feni Paur Jubodal, the accused Enamul Haque aka Sujan, the accused in the case filed in the attack on the car of BNP late Chairperson Khaleda Zia in 2017, was nominated as the general secretary. Feni Paur Jubo Dal President AKM Zahid Hossain and General Secretary Haider Ali Russell Patwari have been expelled from the party for approving the controversial decision. Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan executed this decision.

Nasir Uddin Khandkar and general secretary Naeem Ullah Chowdhury, the recently suspended committee president of the district Jubo Dal, were called several times but they did not pick up the phone.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, the newly announced 12 ward committees of Feni municipality were canceled in a circular signed by Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy secretary of the central executive committee of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal. At the same time, a show cause notice was also given to the president and general secretary of the municipal youth party. In the same notification, Gazi Enamul Haque alias Sujan, the accused in Khaleda Zia’s convoy attack case, was expelled from the party.

Incidentally, on the way from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar in 2017, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s convoy was attacked in Mohipal area of ​​Feni by the then ruling party leaders and activists. Enamul Haque Sujan’s name is number 25 in the list of 28 accused in the case filed on November 28, 2024.
