A person was arrested while roaming around with posters and leaflets of the banned BCL

Banani police station has informed that a young man was arrested while roaming for the purpose of distributing posters and leaflets of the banned student organization Chhatra League. The arrested young man’s name is Md. Ashiq Tapedar (24).
According to the police, these posters and leaflets mention the homecoming day of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who was deposed in the mass coup.
Ashiq Tapedar was arrested from Dhaka-Mymensingh Road area of Banani at around 4:30 am on Saturday. Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) informed this information in a press release.
According to the press release quoting Banani police station, a team of Banani police station arrested Ashiq by carrying out a special operation on the opposite side of the naval headquarters on the Dhaka-Mymensingh road. At that time, posters and leaflets of the banned organization Chhatra League were recovered from him. Legal action against him is pending.
The circular also said that the arrested Ashiq Tapeda told the initial inquiry that he and his associates were roaming around the area to distribute (banned) posters and leaflets of the Chhatra League on the occasion of Sheikh Hasina’s homecoming day on May 17.
