Chattogram police officer stabbed while attempting to arrest drug suspect

A police officer was stabbed by suspected criminals while attempting to apprehend a drug case suspect in the Ambagan area of Chattogram city on Saturday night. Sub-Inspector Mobinul Islam, assigned to the Doublemooring Police Station, sustained multiple injuries during the confrontation, which occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Aminur Rashid, an additional deputy commissioner of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, confirmed the incident, stating that the assault took place as officers moved to arrest a suspect identified as Alamgir. In the wake of the attack, local law enforcement authorities have launched a formal operation to track down and apprehend those involved in the stabbing.

Following the assault, Sub-Inspector Islam was rushed to the casualty ward of the Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital. Nurul Alam Asheq, the in-charge of the police outpost at the hospital, reported that the officer sustained wounds to his head and various parts of his body. He remains under medical care at the facility.
