This year 78 thousand 500 people from Bangladesh will perform Hajj. Hajj flights will start on April 18.

A meeting of the National Committee on Hajj Management was held today on Sunday afternoon. Prime Minister Tariq Rahman presided over this meeting in the cabinet room of the Prime Minister’s office in Bangladesh Secretariat. He is the president of the National Committee on Hajj Management. This information was informed in the press release of the Ministry of Religion.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman laid special emphasis on the service of Haj pilgrims and requested the concerned persons to ensure that there is no negligence in their service. Apart from this, he ordered to appoint people who are proficient in Arabic language as Hajj guides and support staff from next year.

The Prime Minister said to appoint Bangladeshi students from Saudi Arabia to serve Hajj pilgrims, so that they can provide good service. He directed the Hajj agencies to upload the details of Hajj pilgrims’ homes or hotels and flights on the Ministry of Religion’s Hajj portal within three days. Apart from this, the Prime Minister emphasized on the evaluation of the performance of the Hajj agencies at the end of the Holy Hajj.

Earlier, Religious Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad presented the progress and overall activities of Hajj management in Bangladesh in 2026. He also highlighted the challenges of Hajj management.

Religion Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad), Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, Public Administration Secretary Md. Ehchanul Haque, Chief Secretary to Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, Senior Secretary of Home Ministry Manzoor Morshed Chowdhury, Secretary of Aviation and Tourism Ministry Fahmida Akhtar, Information Secretary Mahbooba Farzana and other committee members were present. In the meeting, it was decided to co-opt Gaibandha-4 Constituency Member of Parliament Mohammad Shamim Qaiser and Hub Secretary General Farid Ahmad Majumder in the committee.
