5 detained in connection with three members of RAB being injured in the attack in Brahmanbaria

In Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, three members of the RAB were injured in the attack, five members of the dacoit group have been arrested. They were arrested by raiding Khagatua village of Ratanpur union of the upazila from Monday midnight to Tuesday morning.
RAB-9’s Brahmanbaria office confirmed the matter in a press release this afternoon. The detained persons are Abdul Quader (62) of Khagatua village of Ratanpur union of Nabinagar upazila, Md. Rahim (20), Abdur Rahman alias Apu Mia (18), Noor Alam (16) and their accomplice Chanowara Begum (48).

A press conference was held in this regard at Brahmanbaria office of RAB-9 in Sarkarpara of the district town today. Brahmanbaria RAB-9 Company Commander Additional Superintendent of Police Md confirmed the arrest of five people at this time. Nuravi Later, RAB-9 sent a press release around 4:15 PM.
According to the press release, four members of RAB-9’s intelligence team left for Bancharampur in Brahmanbaria to collect information around four o’clock on Monday afternoon. They were going towards Bancharampur through Nabinagar upazila. Then Nabinagar’s top terrorist and known dacoit Shafiq Mia and his men got together and ambushed the RAB members. Three of the intelligence team were seriously injured in the attack. On receiving the information, other members rescued the injured with the help of local villagers. Later, the injured persons were taken to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex and given first aid. They are currently undergoing treatment at Brahmanbaria General Hospital.

The notification also mentioned that a ramada used in the attack, a native weapon, a knife and two iron rods were recovered. Sensing the presence of RAB, Shafiq Dakat and his accomplice Abdul Halim (34) managed to escape from the area. The dacoit gang has attacked Nabinagar police station twice before.
Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Company Commander of Brahmanbaria RAB-9. Nurunvi told Prothom Alo that the case of the attack is under process. 10-11 people will be accused in the case. The people arrested in the operation are in RAB custody. They will be handed over to Nabinagar police station. The rest will be arrested soon. There are 15 cases of robbery, murder, assault on the police, rape, drugs and other crimes against the detained Shafiq.
