Content creator and actress Karina Kaiser was airlifted to a hospital in Chennai, India, on Monday night, May 11, in a critical state due to severe liver complications. The move came as her family expressed profound distress over a wave of false death rumors circulating on social media platforms.

Kaiser was transported via air ambulance from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Christian Medical College Hospital in Chennai, accompanied by her mother and two brothers. Her condition had rapidly deteriorated, initially presenting as a fever and subsequent infection, which quickly progressed to complications from Hepatitis A and E, leading to liver failure. She was initially moved to the ICU and later placed on life support as her health worsened.

From Thursday night, May 14, various Facebook pages and personal accounts began circulating fabricated reports of her death, accompanied by rapidly viral photo cards. Her family has since voiced deep concern and anger over these reports.

Kaiser Hamid, her father and a former national football player, condemned the rumors, stating they were causing immense mental anguish to the family during an already difficult time. “We are already very worried about her health,” he told media on Friday morning, May 15, appealing for public empathy. “Such business with a matter like death is unethical. At this moment, everyone’s mental support is needed. Please do not engage in such acts.”

Regarding her current physical state, Kaiser Hamid noted a gradual improvement in his daughter’s lung infection, which is now partly under control. However, treatment for her liver condition remains ongoing, and the process for a potential liver transplant has already commenced. He confirmed that his two sons underwent tests recently as part of this evaluation.
