Bangladeshi actress and model Snigdha Chowdhury has filed a formal complaint at the Khilkhet Police Station in Dhaka, alleging that she was subjected to physical abuse after being lured to a hospital under the guise of an advertising contract. The actress, known for her recent debut in the film “Pressure Cooker,” took legal action on Sunday night following the alleged assault.

According to the complaint, Chowdhury was invited to the hospital for a professional meeting, only to be held against her will and physically assaulted. The actress claims that the chairman of the Ashiyan Group, the primary accused, mistook her for a woman named Zeba Takia, whom he accused of defrauding him. Chowdhury alleges that another individual named Emon, who was present at the scene, failed to intervene and instead pressured her to accept the false identity.

Chowdhury recounted a harrowing ordeal in which she was bound with rope and subjected to verbal and physical violence. She alleges that the chairman restrained her, confiscated her mobile phone, and repeatedly strangled and kicked her while making inflammatory remarks. Despite her pleas, including reminders of his own family, she claims the violence continued, leaving her with visible physical injuries.

The actress stated that she initially hesitated to pursue legal action due to concerns regarding potential damage to her personal reputation. However, she eventually decided to approach the authorities in search of justice. Police have confirmed the filing of the case and have initiated an investigation to determine the necessary legal measures. The accused parties have yet to provide a statement regarding the allegations.
