NEW YORK – Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway expressed a mix of joy and disbelief after being unveiled as the cover star for People magazine’s coveted ‘World’s Most Beautiful’ issue, an honor she described as “still a bit unreal.” Her remarks came Monday, April 20, at the Lincoln Center premiere of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2,’ where People magazine representatives presented her with her special edition copy.

Speaking with People magazine’s Taylon Biggs at the star-studded event, Hathaway described the day as “tremendously joyful,” admitting that securing a spot on such an iconic cover was entirely unexpected. She shared her initial reaction with a smile: “It still feels a little unreal. It’s the first day; I’m still trying to process it—and I hope everyone makes a little fun of me for it!”

The premiere marked Hathaway’s return to her beloved character, Andy Sachs, nearly two decades after the original film’s release. She reflected on the “special” experience of reuniting with former co-stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, stating it was a joy to revisit that particular time.

The 43-year-old Oscar winner also offered a glimpse into her personal life, crediting her husband, Adam Shulman, for consistently keeping her grounded and connected to reality. Hathaway’s journey into acting began early; she made her big-screen debut in 2001 with ‘The Princess Diaries’ and decided to pursue acting at just three years old after watching her mother perform.

Navigating various challenges throughout her career, Hathaway’s talent culminated in an Academy Award win in 2013 for her powerful portrayal of Fantine in ‘Les Misérables.’ This year promises to be particularly busy for the actress, with ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ set for release on May 1, alongside four other films slated to hit theaters.
