Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa recently shared a startling incident from her career, recounting how a female fan revealed her engagement broke off because her former fiancé was reportedly obsessed with Bajwa, demanding his partner emulate the star’s appearance. The surprising confession left the actress momentarily speechless, although the fan quickly assured her she is now happily engaged to a new partner.

Bajwa described the encounter, stating the fan approached her directly, asking if she was Sonam Bajwa. Upon confirmation, the fan immediately dropped the bombshell: “She directly told me that her engagement broke off because of me! I was stunned to hear it. I couldn’t understand if I should apologize or say something else.”

The fan later clarified that despite the unusual circumstance, she was “very happy” now, having since become engaged to someone else. She explained that she had ended her previous relationship because her fiancé was infatuated with Bajwa, desiring his future wife to look exactly like the actress and achieve a similar physique. This demand became “unbearable” for her, prompting her to call off the wedding. She added that her current fiancé loves her deeply.

Bajwa, a prominent figure in Punjabi cinema, began her journey as a model. She first gained public attention after participating in the “Femina Miss India” competition in 2012.

Her acting debut in Punjabi cinema came with the film “Best of Luck,” and she achieved widespread popularity with “Punjab 1984.” Over the past few years, Bajwa has solidified her position as one of the top stars in the industry, boasting a string of superhit films including “Nikka Zaildar,” “Carry On Jatta 3,” and “Sardar Ji.”

Beyond her success in Punjabi productions, Bajwa has also ventured into the Hindi film industry, appearing in titles such as “Street Dancer 3D” and “Housefull 5,” alongside roles in several Tamil and Telugu movies.
