Dhaka to Host Monsoon Revolution Concert Marking July Uprising Anniversary

A star-studded concert titled “Songs of the Monsoon Revolution” is set to take place Wednesday afternoon at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka, marking the anniversary of the historic July mass uprising. The event, which serves as a cultural celebration of the movement’s victory, will feature performances from prominent Bangladeshi musicians and bands, including Parsa Mahjabeen, Sezan, Kureghor, Arbovirus, AvoidRafa, Asif Akbar, Shironamhin, Ark, and Artcell.

Organized by the Monsoon Cultural Alliance, the concert is being spearheaded by Hasnat Abdullah, a member of parliament and chief organizer for the southern region of the National Citizen Party (NCP), who serves as the convener of the implementation committee. The logistical management of the event is being overseen by Tahsin Riaz, the party’s joint member secretary.

The gathering is expected to draw significant political attention, with acting Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal slated to attend as the chief guest. Special guests include Whip Nur-e-Alam and opposition chief whip Md. Nahid Islam, who will join the festivities to commemorate the landmark political shift.
