Chandigarh Court Summons Salman Khan and Sister Over Alleged Multi-Million Rupee Jewellery Fraud

A district court in Chandigarh has issued summons to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited in connection with a multi-crore fraud case involving the “Being Human” jewelry brand.

The court has ordered all defendants to appear in person on October 5 to provide a written response to the allegations. The legal action follows a complaint filed by Chandigarh-based businessman Arun Gupta.

In his petition, Gupta alleges that he was promised significant financial returns in exchange for opening a “Being Human” jewelry showroom in Mani Majra. However, the businessman claims he suffered financial losses amounting to several crores after failing to receive the promised business support.

Gupta stated that after entering into an agreement with the brand’s marketing company, Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited, he invested approximately 30 million rupees, with one-third of that amount spent exclusively on setting up the showroom. He further alleged that the showroom’s operations were severely compromised after the central hub responsible for supplying jewelry closed in February 2020.

The complaint further asserts that the businessman was induced to invest based on misleading information regarding Salman Khan’s participation and the brand’s promotional commitments.

In response to the allegations, the involved company has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that Salman Khan played no direct role in the 2018 agreement with the Chandigarh businessman. According to the firm, the Salman Khan Foundation licensed its brand to Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited in 2015. The company stated that it operates under an independent licensing agreement, and therefore, all responsibilities regarding the marketing, management, and sales of the jewelry business rest solely with the firm.
