British Model Brutally Murdered After Halloween Party

A 36-year-old male model, Luke Hadden, was brutally killed in Bacup, Lancashire, in the early hours of November 1 last year, shortly after leaving a Halloween party, prosecutors told a court in an ongoing trial. Police have arrested and charged 26-year-old Vuyokazi Sonny Matabidzwana in connection with the slaying, which occurred with such suddenness that Hadden had no opportunity to defend himself.

Evidence presented at Preston Crown Court indicates that both Hadden and Matabidzwana attended a Halloween party at the Rosemount Working Men’s Club in Stacksteads but were not previously acquainted. CCTV footage captured Hadden appearing intoxicated as he left the club, with the two men reportedly encountering each other on Newchurch Road just before midnight.

Pathologists’ reports reveal that Hadden sustained severe head and facial injuries, including a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage, rendering him unable to call for emergency assistance.

Prosecutors informed the court that Matabidzwana attempted to flee the country two days after the incident but was apprehended by police at Manchester Airport. Details regarding the consumption of alcohol, ketamine, and cocaine were also presented during the proceedings.

Matabidzwana has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. The trial is ongoing, with the jury currently reviewing witness testimonies and evidence.
