Video Surfaces of Flash Protest by Banned Student Organization in Anwara

A flash protest rally was held in Anwara, Chittagong, under the banner of the outlawed student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League, with footage of the incident surfacing on social media on Thursday morning. The video, which spans 57 seconds, shows over 100 participants chanting slogans, though authorities have yet to confirm exactly when the demonstration took place.

The rally reportedly occurred in the Kalabibir Dighi area along the PAB Road in Anwara Upazila. Local sources identified the individual leading the procession as Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, a former vice-president of the organization’s Chittagong South District unit.

This incident follows a similar event on August 15, when members of the same banned group held a flash procession on the Anwara College Road to mark the death anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In the aftermath of that rally, police filed a case against 45 named individuals, charging them with sabotage.

When asked about the latest footage, Anwara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Junaid Chowdhury stated that the police have not received any official reports regarding the rally. He added that authorities are currently reviewing the video to determine when the event occurred.
