Four police officers suspended after murder suspect escapes from Jatrabari police station custody

A female suspect escaped from the police detention cell at Jatrabari Police Station in the capital on Thursday, prompting authorities to withdraw four police officers from duty. The personnel facing disciplinary action include one sub-inspector and three constables.
The suspect, identified as Mitu Akter, had been in police custody serving a three-day remand in connection with a murder case filed at the Jatrabari station.
Mir Muhsin Masud Rana, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of the Demra zone under the Wari Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the incident. He stated that the suspect managed to escape the detention cell by employing deceptive tactics during the morning hours.
Law enforcement agencies have launched an active operation to locate and re-arrest the fugitive.
