Police recover severed human leg from paddy field in Kurigram

Police in Nageshwari, Kurigram, recovered a severed human leg from a paddy field on Wednesday morning. The discovery was made at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the Nilurkhamar Charuatari area of Santoshpur Union.
Authorities have yet to identify the remains or determine how the limb ended up in the field.
The incident drew significant attention from local residents after passersby spotted the limb lying near the roadside. Upon receiving reports from the public, officers from Nageshwari Police Station arrived at the scene to recover the evidence.
Local witnesses reported finding a bloodstained plastic bag in the vicinity of the limb. Residents speculated that the remains may have been discarded by someone passing through the area, though no one could confirm the exact time or identity of the individuals responsible for leaving the items.
Enamul Haque, the officer-in-charge of Nageshwari Police Station, confirmed that police responded to the scene immediately following the report. He stated that while the limb has been recovered, its origin remains under investigation as forensic efforts to identify the victim continue.
