Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone to Lead Brahmastra Part Two with Alia Bhatt in Reduced Role

Production of the highly anticipated Hindi film Brahmastra Part Two is scheduled to commence in April 2027, following lead actor Ranbir Kapoor’s completion of his commitments to the film Ramayana. The sequel is expected to expand the franchise’s mythology, with the narrative centering on the backstory of the characters Dev and Amrita.

Ranbir Kapoor is slated to perform a dual role, portraying both the characters of Dev and Shiva. Actress Deepika Padukone has been cast as Amrita, Dev’s wife. In a shift from the franchise’s first installment, Alia Bhatt, who served as a primary lead in the original film, will feature in a significantly reduced capacity for the sequel. Reports indicate that Bhatt’s filming schedule for the second installment is limited to 25 days.

Industry reports suggest that the total shooting schedule for Brahmastra Part Two is planned for approximately 125 days. While the upcoming sequel focuses on the arcs of Kapoor and Padukone, producers intend to return Bhatt to a prominent, parallel lead role in the franchise’s third installment.

The original film, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, was released in 2022 and featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.
