Six more people have died from measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported on Sunday.

Health authorities note that all deaths involving measles-like symptoms during an outbreak are categorized as measles-related. While epidemiologists state that the disease can affect individuals of any age, children remain the most vulnerable demographic. The DGHS report does not provide a breakdown of these statistics by age.

In the last 24 hours, 1,021 new cases of measles-like symptoms were reported across the country, raising the total number of such cases since March 15 to 142,797. During the same period, 80 cases were clinically confirmed as measles, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 17,880.

The remaining three fatalities were recorded in the Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions, respectively. No new confirmed measles-related deaths were reported within the past 24 hours.
