Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid releases new rendition of Awarapan hit song Tera Mera Rishta

Pakistani rock band Roxen’s lead singer, Mustafa Zahid, has released a new rendition of the popular song “Tera Mera Rishta,” nearly two decades after it first gained prominence in the 2007 Emraan Hashmi-starrer “Awarapan.”
The updated version was released on August 14. While preserving the essence of the original melody, Zahid introduced slight revisions to the lyrics. The accompanying music video features the singer performing in an open-air setting against the backdrop of a vibrant city skyline at night.
Zahid opted for an independent release across YouTube, Instagram Reels, and various streaming platforms after being excluded from the official soundtrack of “Awarapan 2.” The exclusion was a result of the ongoing restrictions regarding the participation of Pakistani artists in Indian film productions.
Despite his omission from the official album produced for the sequel, which features Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, Zahid stated that he produced this solo version to ensure the legacy of the song remained intact for his fanbase. By bringing the track back to audiences in both nations, the singer sought to reconnect listeners with the nostalgia associated with the film franchise.
