AR Rahmans Son AR Ameen Survives Road Accident in Chennai

AR Ameen, a musician and the son of Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman, survived a road accident in Chennai, India, on Monday morning. The incident occurred near the Olympia Tech Park signal, close to the Kathipara flyover in Guindy.

According to reports, the collision took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. as Ameen was traveling from Koyambedu toward Chennai. Local police stated that a Wagon-R vehicle suddenly merged onto the main road from a side street, resulting in a collision with Ameen’s Porsche.

Following the crash, both Ameen and the driver of the second vehicle were transported to Kauvery Hospital for medical evaluation. They were discharged shortly after receiving primary treatment for non-serious injuries. An occupant of the second vehicle, who also sustained injuries, was treated at the Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital and has since been released.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has impounded both vehicles as part of an ongoing investigation. Authorities have formally registered a case to determine the specific circumstances surrounding the accident.

AR Ameen, the son of AR Rahman and Saira Banu, launched his career as a playback singer in 2015 with the track “Maula Wa Sallim” for the film O Kadhal Kanmani. Since his debut, he has worked across various musical styles and languages, frequently accompanying his father on international concert tours. Most recently, he performed the Tamil song “Chikiri Chikiri” for the film Peddi and collaborated with Jasleen Royal on the track “Vigi Vigi,” which features actors Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
