School teacher died of heart attack while queuing for oil

The incident took place at the Surma petrol pump in front of the tourist motel in the city on Saturday (April 11) afternoon.

According to the police, Mehdi is the son of Matiur Rahman of New Engineer neighborhood of the city. He was working as a teacher in Hat Government Primary School, Lahiri. Mehdi Hasan Begum was a sixth batch student of Statistics Department of Rokeya University.

According to family sources, Mehedi Hasan stood in line for about three and a half hours to get oil at Surma oil pump in the city. He suffered a heart attack while standing in line. Later, when he was taken to Rangpur Prime Medical College Hospital, the doctors declared him dead.

In this regard, Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station OC Azad Rahman said, I received information that one person died while standing in line to buy oil. Details of the incident are being gathered.
