Vijay’s new film ‘Premika’ is heading towards the 250 crore club

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s alleged ‘girlfriend’ Trisha Krishnan and Suriya’s much-talked-about movie ‘Karuppu’ is fast approaching the Rs 250 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The movie is still popular in theaters even after its second week of release. 

This commercial genre movie made in the context of mythological background is getting very positive response from the audience. As a result, after a succession of films that did not do as well as expected, many fans are calling this movie a great ‘comeback’ for Suriya. 

According to box office tracking website ‘Sacknilk’, the movie grossed Rs 7.80 crore in India on its 8th day of release. This revenue is only 3.7 percent less than the 7th day (Rs. 8.10 crore), which proves that the movie has maintained a strong position at the box office even on the first Friday of the second week.

On Friday (May 22), the movie had a total of 4,521 shows across the country. The average attendance rate in theaters on that day was 31.4 percent, slightly higher than the previous day (30.5 percent).

The film has maintained a strong position in the international market as well. The movie grossed Rs 3.50 crore from overseas on the 8th day alone. As a result, the film’s total overseas earnings have now touched Rs 60 crore.
