After 55 years of independence, the Freedom Fighters Memorial is being built in Doha, Dhaka. But even after all these years, the anti-independence force Jamaat and its allies could not forget the grief of the liberation war. So the circle repeatedly finds the smell of conspiracy in words to set the country back.

Dhaka-1 (Dohar-Nawabganj) Constituency Member of Parliament and District BNP President Khandkar Abu Ashfak said this while inaugurating the foundation stone for the construction of the memorial at Dhaka’s Doha Upazila Parishad premises on Sunday afternoon. The construction cost of the memorial has been fixed at Tk 28 lakh under the initiative of Doha Municipality. Its construction is starting under the overall supervision of Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Maidul Islam.

Abu Ashfaq said, a group is still crying. They are lovers of Pakistan and desperate to subjugate the country. Those who have killed people, robbed the honor of mothers and sisters, they have not stopped yet. This group, known as extremists, is constantly hindering the development and prosperity of the country. They’re still setting fire to various landmark installations in their old fiendish style, like in ’71. The bearers of the non-communal spirit should unite and keep the victory of the great liberation war of 1971 and Bangladesh alive.

The member of Parliament urged everyone to build a social movement against drug terrorism and sand pirates in every area of Nawabganj. Paying respect to the freedom fighters, he said, “Let’s all work together to keep alive the memory of those whose lives, labor and sweat earned this freedom.” Respect the freedom fighters and reject the anti-independence forces. Young and educated generation should come forward with this slogan. The youth should be informed so that they do not suffer any confusion.

Doha Health and Family Welfare Officer Rabiul Islam, Municipal Engineer MM Mamunur Rashid, Doha Upazila BNP President SM Nazrul Islam, General Secretary Masud Parvez, Dhaka District Jubo Dal Senior Vice President Abul Hashem Bepari and others were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
