Police constable falls victim to burglary while on duty in Bogura

A police constable in Bogra’s Sherpur upazila returned home from an overnight shift Friday morning to find that his residence had been burglarized. Constable Md. Ainul, who serves at the Sherpur Police Station, discovered the theft upon arriving at his rented home in the town’s Ulipur area at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Upon entering the residence, the officer observed that the bottom section of a window had been opened. A laptop and a mobile phone, which had been left on a nearby table, were missing. While the constable was away on duty, his wife and children were asleep in an adjacent room and remained unaware of the intrusion.
Authorities believe the perpetrator managed to open the window and reach inside to seize the items from the table without disturbing the occupants.
Sub-Inspector Tofazzal Hossain of the Sherpur Police Station confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. Police have initiated efforts to identify the culprits and stated that legal action will be taken against those responsible for the theft.
