A young man has been arrested for spreading misleading information about Chief Whip Nurul Islam (Moni) on social media Facebook and blackmailing him on WhatsApp. Arrested AM Hasan Nasim (35) admin of a Facebook page.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Branch (DB) arrested Nasim from a house in West Agargaon on Friday night.

Later on Saturday afternoon, Nasim was shown arrested in a case of Cyber ​​Protection Ordinance Act at Gulshan police station. DB’s Cyber ​​Division is investigating the case. DB’s Joint Commissioner (Cyber) Syed Haroon Or Rashid confirmed the arrest.

After the arrest, Nasim was taken to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court (CMM) in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon. The investigating officer of the case DB Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Raihanur Rahman. On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused, Zahirul Islam, applied for bail after canceling the remand.

After the hearing, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasib Ullah Piyas canceled the remand and bail application and ordered to send the accused to jail.
