Two Aspiring Migrants From Chandpur Die in Road Accident While Returning From Trip

Two childhood friends from Kachua Upazila in Chandpur died in a motorcycle accident in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday morning while returning from a leisure trip. The victims, identified as 23-year-old Firoz Ahmed and 24-year-old Mahi Patwari, were killed as they traveled back home following visits to Sajek Valley and Cox’s Bazar.
The victims, both residents of Saharpar village near Rahimannagar Bazar, had been preparing to move abroad for work. Mahi Patwari was scheduled to depart for Italy in two months, while Firoz Ahmed was set to travel to Qatar on September 30.
Local authorities and family members reported that the two friends had set out on their motorcycle trip last Thursday. After completing their tour, they departed Cox’s Bazar for Kachua early Tuesday morning when the fatal accident occurred.
A joint funeral prayer for the two men was held on Wednesday at the Rahimannagar BAB High School grounds. Following the service, they were laid to rest in their respective family graveyards.
Mahi Patwari was the youngest of four siblings, and Firoz Ahmed was the second of five. Their deaths have left their families and the local community in a state of profound shock. Reflecting on their lifelong bond, Mahi’s father, Mizanur Rahman Patwari, noted that the two had grown up together and remained inseparable until their untimely deaths.
