Police recover body of missing man in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila

Police recovered the body of a 55-year-old man from an abandoned homestead in Maheshpur, under the Banglabazar Union of Munshiganj Sadar Upazila, on Wednesday evening.
The deceased, Mozammel Bepari, was a resident of the Makkahati area in Mollakandi Union. According to his family, Bepari had been residing at his sister’s house in Shilmandi village to avoid ongoing disputes regarding land ownership with several individuals in his home village. He had returned to Bangladesh from Saudi Arabia approximately 15 years ago and had since held various occupations.
Bepari went missing on Tuesday afternoon after leaving his sister’s residence. His family initiated a search after losing contact with him, eventually discovering his body at the abandoned property in Maheshpur on Wednesday afternoon.
Family members have alleged that Bepari was murdered as part of a premeditated plan and his body was subsequently dumped at the site. Relatives noted that the victim’s mobile phone was in the possession of his wife at the time of the incident.
Additional Superintendent of Police for the Munshiganj Sadar Circle, Md. Imran Ahmed, confirmed the recovery of the body on Wednesday night. He stated that there were no visible signs of trauma or injury on the deceased. The body has been sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Police officials noted that although Bepari had been missing since Tuesday, the family had not filed a formal missing person report or general diary with the police station prior to the discovery of the body.
