Actress Tanjin Tisha Granted Bail in Fraud and Breach of Trust Case

DHAKA — Popular television actress Tanjin Tisha was granted bail by a Dhaka court on Thursday in connection with a lawsuit filed against her for alleged fraud and breach of trust.

The actress surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jewel Rana at 11:25 a.m. Following a brief hearing, the court accepted her bail plea. This appearance followed a court order issued on July 12, which had mandated her presence in the proceedings.

The case stems from a complaint filed on November 5, 2025, by Md. Aminul Islam, an executive at the online fashion outlet Aponia Fashion. According to the lawsuit, Tisha had acquired a sari from the retail page valued at approximately 28,800 taka. The complainant alleged that while the actress had promised to promote the brand and pay for the item, she subsequently ceased all communication regarding the transaction.

In response to the allegations, Tisha previously stated through social media that the garment was provided to her as a gift, asserting that no payment was required.

Following the initial filing of the case, the court tasked the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police with investigating the matter. After reviewing the investigation report submitted by the DB, the court issued a summons against Tisha, leading to her appearance in court on Thursday.
