Fire destroys 15 shanties in Dhaka Shyamali area with no casualties reported

A fire destroyed approximately 15 makeshift tin-roofed structures in the Shyamoli area of the capital on Thursday afternoon, though no casualties were reported.
The blaze broke out in a row of houses located on Road No. 3 in Shyamoli. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, the fire originated in one of the dwellings and spread rapidly to adjacent units.
Two fire service units from Mohammadpur were dispatched to the scene after receiving the report at approximately 3:15 p.m. Firefighters successfully brought the flames under control by 4:15 p.m. following an hour of operations.
Anwarul Islam, an official from the fire service media cell, confirmed the extent of the property damage and stated that there were no injuries or fatalities. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire or the estimated total value of the losses.
