Veteran Economic Journalist Kismat Khandaker Dies at 69

Veteran journalist Khandaker Mohammad Abul Hasnat, widely known as Kismat Khandaker, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at a hospital in Aftabnagar, Dhaka. He was 69 years old.
The journalist’s family confirmed that his remains will be transported to his ancestral home in Mirzapur, Tangail, on Wednesday night. Funeral prayers and interment at the family graveyard are scheduled to take place following Zuhr prayers on Thursday.
Kismat Khandaker enjoyed a distinguished career covering business and economic affairs for several prominent media outlets across Bangladesh. A respected figure within the journalism community, he maintained active memberships with the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) and the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).
In the wake of his passing, leadership from both the ERF and DRU issued formal statements expressing their profound condolences and acknowledging his contributions to the profession.
