One Killed and Two Surrender as Bangladesh Army Conducts Operations in Khagrachari

A member of an armed insurgent group was killed and several others surrendered following a series of security operations conducted by the Bangladesh Army in the Panchhari and Ramgarh upazilas of Khagrachhari. According to an official statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, the coordinated missions resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of weaponry, including three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, and 159 rounds of ammunition.
The operations commenced Tuesday afternoon in the Barkolak area of Panchhari, where troops encountered armed militants. During the exchange of fire, two members of the insurgent group surrendered to security forces, leaving behind two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and 132 rounds of ammunition.

A second operation followed on Wednesday morning in the Hazachhara area of Ramgarh. The encounter escalated into a firefight that left one insurgent dead. Following the skirmish, troops recovered an additional AK-47 rifle, a magazine, a pipe gun, and 27 rounds of ammunition, alongside various military-grade supplies.
The ISPR stated that the Bangladesh Army remains committed to maintaining long-term stability in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Military officials confirmed that operations against armed groups will continue as part of a broader mandate to ensure the safety and security of all ethnic communities residing in the region.
