Uttara Businessmans Home Shot at Again After 2.5 Months
Unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fired three shots at the Uttara residence of garments businessman Abul Kashem on Friday night, marking the second such attack on the property within two and a half months. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident in Dhaka’s capital.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. at the main gate of the AKS Group owner’s home in Uttara’s Sector 7. Police reported that the perpetrators, wearing helmets, fled the scene immediately after firing.
Three bullet casings and other evidence were recovered from the site, according to Mohammad Khalid Mansur, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara West Police Station. He confirmed that no one was harmed during the latest attack.
The incident follows a similar shooting at the same residence on March 10. Authorities suspect the attacks may stem from business disputes.
OC Khalid Mansur stated that the businessman had filed a case regarding the initial shooting, which is currently under investigation by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police. The new incident is being treated with significant urgency as part of the ongoing inquiry.
