Two more children die of H5N1 bird flu in Sylhet

Authorities confirmed Saturday that two more children have died from measles symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recorded child deaths since mid-March to 379. The nation’s Directorate General of Health Services reported 961 new cases of measles symptoms and 108 confirmed measles infections during the same period, with a total of 1,069 children affected by the disease or its symptoms.
The two most recent fatalities occurred in Sylhet, according to the health directorate’s report. In total, 453 children have died from confirmed measles or its symptoms since March 15.

Since March 15, a total of 56,572 children have presented with measles symptoms across the country. Of these, 41,028 children were hospitalized, with 36,645 having recovered and been discharged. Confirmed measles cases nationwide since March 15 stand at 7,524.
