Twin brothers excel in SSC examinations securing top positions in Kotchandpur Upazila

Twin brothers Taslim Ahmed and Taufiq Ahmed have achieved exceptional results in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, both securing Grade Point Average (GPA)-5 and bringing accolades to their family in Kotchandpur, Jhenaidah.

The brothers, students of the Science department at Kotchandpur Government Model Pilot Secondary School, distinguished themselves among their peers in the Upazila. Taslim Ahmed secured the highest marks in the region, scoring 1,195 out of 1,250, while Taufiq Ahmed placed sixth with a score of 1,180. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Neshar Ahmed confirmed the results.

The success of the twins is the latest achievement for the family of Faruk Ahmed, an academic supervisor at the Kotchandpur Upazila Secondary Education Office, and Naznin Sultana, an assistant teacher at a local government primary school. The couple’s eldest son, Tahmid Ahmed, is currently studying Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Dhaka.

Reflecting on their academic journey, Naznin Sultana noted that the brothers have maintained a diligent study routine alongside their extracurricular activities since childhood. She expressed immense pride in their performance, noting that the brothers were separated by a margin of only 15 marks.

Faruk Ahmed praised his sons’ academic commitment and requested public support for their future endeavors. He expressed his hope that they would continue their success and eventually contribute to the nation’s standing on the global stage.

The brothers credited their success to the unwavering support of their parents, their elder brother, and their school teachers. Both Taslim and Taufiq have expressed their ambition to pursue careers in engineering, with the goal of attending the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

Beyond their SSC results, the twins have a track record of academic and extracurricular excellence. Mofizur Rahman, head teacher of Kotchandpur Government Pilot Secondary School, described the brothers as talented individuals who excel in sports and quiz competitions. The pair were among seven students from the institution who achieved international recognition by securing the top rank in a global grade-10 research report competition hosted by NASA. School authorities stated that the entire institution takes pride in the twins’ consistent academic brilliance.
