Torch march of student power in Dhaka University to protest child rape, murder and law and order deterioration

Dhaka University branch of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti held a torch march to protest against the brutal killing of an eight-year-old girl child in Pallabi of the capital and the deterioration of the law and order situation across the country.
The procession started from the foot of the Raju sculpture of the university at around 8 pm today, Wednesday. The torch procession circumambulated the VC Chattar and Mall Chattar and ended with a short rally at Raju Bhaskar.
During the march, the organization’s leaders and workers chanted ‘Raptor’s mattress, set fire together’, ‘Justice! Justice! Various slogans including We Want Justice can be seen.
In a short rally, Chhatra Shakti leaders criticized the government, expressing anger over the ongoing unrest, rapes and murders in the country. They demanded speedy trial of child murder in Pallavi and all recent murders.
President of Dhaka University branch of Chhatra Shakti Tahmid Al Mudassir Chowdhury said that this government has been cheating people one after another since its arrival. They are failing to control the law and order situation. If the country’s security system deteriorates, how many more children are raped and murdered, we will be able to protest the resignation of the Home Minister?
This student leader also said that the Home Minister is only doing populist work. He is sometimes seen speaking on the law, sometimes on the constitution, and sometimes as an education advisor to the education minister. But he is not seen doing any press briefing on the law and order situation of the state.
Senior Vice President of Chhatra Shakti and VP of Shamsunnahar Hall Sangsad Kurratul Ain Kaniz said, “There have been five cases of rape and murder in the country within a week. When a CNG driver was beaten to death for only 10 rupees, the question arises, is Home Minister Salahuddin alive at all? After being elected, what has he been able to do for the country except empty bullies?’
Organizing secretary of the organization. Saifullah demanded the resignation of the Home Minister and said, “The constitution that fails to provide security to people, cannot protect the young sisters, we do not need that constitutional expert Salahuddin.”
Saifullah also said, “The BNP government is making its ministers and state ministers practice running behind Tariq Rahman’s car, but they are not taking any action regarding extrajudicial killings and rapes across the country.”
Chhatra Shakti Joint Organizing Secretary Mohammad Shakib, Information Affairs Secretary Sardar Nadeem Mahmud Shuvo and Science Affairs Secretary and Shaheedullah Hall Daksu member Zamindar Naeem also addressed the gathering.
It should be noted that the police recovered the body of an eight-year-old girl from a house in Pallavi of the capital on Tuesday.
