The incident took place in Ejahar Shikdar’s Akashmani Bagan area of Madarsha Union in Satkaniya, Chittagong at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday. The three arrested are Mohammad Rashed (18) son of Abul Kalam of Khuruskul village of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, Mohammad Majnu son of Raujan Upazila of Chittagong. Akib (20) and Mohammad Robin (25), son of Ayub Ali of the same upazila. During the arrest, one LG (country gun), one single-barreled gun, a sharp knife and two rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.
When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station Manjurul Haque told Prothom Alo, “During preliminary interrogation, the three arrested have confessed to the preparation of the robbery.” Two cases have been registered in their name at the police station. They are associated with a professional gang of 12 members. They have been sent to Chittagong Jail by the court this afternoon.
