The parents did not know that the son was looking for the murderer

The two friends were almost always together. They were rarely seen apart. They used to work as day laborers together in different places of Khulna city. Suddenly one day both disappeared. The family thought that he might have gone to work somewhere. But after three days, one friend returned, but there was no trace of the other.
After that, many dramas started. Sweety Begum, the mother of the missing young Hasib Mridha, ran to her son’s close friend. To Sohail. Sohail said that they both went to Dhaka from Khulna three days ago to work as day laborers. He returned but Haseeb did not return.
Haseeb’s mother Sweety Begum and father Hasan Mridha became desperate in search of their son. They want to know where their son has been left? Then Sohail said that on September 21 last year, he returned to the area after leaving Hasib at Ramna Botmul in Dhaka.
Hasib’s parents want to go to Dhaka in search of their son. On September 25, Sohail himself took them to Dhaka by train. They searched the area around Batmool, Matsya Bhavan, Shahbagh, Gulistan’s Golap Shah Mazar in Ramna of the capital. After hours of searching, nothing was found. In the end, Hasib’s parents went back to Khulna after being disappointed. But still no one understood – the boy’s friend who is standing next to look for the boy, is actually the murderer.
On September 23 last year, the Rupsa Naval Police outpost recovered the body of an unidentified man floating on the bank of Rupsa river on the east side of the large pontoon in the Shipyard area of Saltachara police station in Khulna. The body could not be immediately identified due to decomposition. Police registered a case of wrongful death in this incident. The body was later buried as an heir.
A team of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Khulna District Police was investigating the incident. The search was going on in various police stations along with the surrounding districts, are there any missing complaints before or after September 23?
People involved in the investigation of PBI came to know that there is such a complaint in Saltachara police station. Based on that complaint, Haseeb’s mother Sweety Begum was contacted. On September 29, Hasib Mridha’s mother Sweety Begum was shown the stills of the recovered body. Sweety Begum identified the body as her son Haseeb’s by looking at the tattoo on his right arm, clothes and physical structure.
The moment the body was identified, the arrow of suspicion turned towards son Haseeb’s friend Sohail. Although initially Sohail was not accepting. After preliminary interrogation, Sohail is kept under surveillance by PBI. Meanwhile, Sohail was arrested in a theft case and went to jail.
Meanwhile, Haseeb’s mother Sweety Begum filed a murder case against Sohel at Khulna Sadar police station on November 18. On November 25, Sohail was remanded for questioning in the murder case. On November 27, he confessed to the murder and gave a confessional statement to the court.
Investigation officer of this case PBI Khulna District Deputy Inspector (SI) Rezwan Ahmed told Prothom Alo, considering the surrounding situation, it is very certain that Hasib was killed by Sohail. The technical investigation also found this to be the case. Later, Sohail was remanded and interrogated in the Haseeb murder case.
In the interrogation of PBI, Sohail said that after the evening of September 21, he took Hasib Mridha to the bank of Rupsa river on an easy bike from Helatala intersection in Khulna Sadar area. There was a fight between them over the consumption of Dandy – the national intoxicant. At one point, Sohail punched Hasib under the chest. Haseeb fainted at this. Thinking that Haseeb was dead, Sohail threw the body in Rupsa river to hide it. Then he returned to the area and started the drama of finding his missing friend.
Superintendent of Police of Khulna District PBI Reshma Sharmin told Prothom Alo that the recovery of the melted body was clueless in the beginning. After the body was identified, a technical investigation yielded information about one person. The person involved in this incident has already confessed to the murder by giving a statement in court. The charge sheet in this murder case will be given soon.
