The body was exhumed from the grave after 14 months of burial in Lakshmipur.
The body of a farmer’s party leader was exhumed from the grave in Lakshmipur after nearly 14 months of burial. This incident took place in Terbeki area of Lakshmipur municipality on Sunday afternoon. His body was removed on the direction of the court for the investigation of the murder case.
The name of that farmer party leader is Shahadat Hossain. He is the former vice-president of the District Farmers’ Party and the son of deceased Jalal Uddin of Samserabad area of Lakshmipur municipality. He died on March 7 last year in Zorarganj Mostanagar area of Mirsarai, Chittagong. At that time, word spread that he had died in a road accident, but on April 9, his wife Shefali Begum filed a case of murder in the court as a plaintiff. His body was recovered in the investigation of this case.

When asked, Executive Magistrate Nahid Sheikh said that the deceased’s wife filed a case in Chittagong Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on April 9 last year. The body has been exhumed and sent to the mortuary of Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for the investigation of this case. After the autopsy, the body will be reburied.
Shahadat Hossain’s wife Shefali Begum said, “My husband was a resident of Oman. About eight months before the incident, he came home on vacation. Md. of the same area. He had a friendly relationship with Mohan. On the day of the incident, my husband went to buy an excavator in Mirsrai, Chittagong along with him. He also took 10 lakh rupees. Later he died there.

Shefali Begum said, ‘On hearing the news of the death, the relatives recovered my husband’s body from the Zorarganj Highway police station. Then they thought that my husband died in a road accident. However, at one stage, a knife wound was found on my husband’s stomach. Again the 10 lakh taka taken with him was not found. Then we realized that my husband was killed to embezzle 10 lakh rupees. Due to grief, the case was not filed. A case has been filed later.
