Sacrificial animal waste must be removed within 12 hours: Minister of State for Local Government

Mir Shahe Alam, Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, said that the waste of sacrificial animals slaughtered on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha in all city corporations and municipal areas of the country including Bogra must be removed between 12 noon and 12 midnight (12 hours). Prime Minister Tariq Rahman has issued instructions with necessary instructions in this regard.
Mir Shahe Alam said this in the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting organized at Bogra City Corporation Auditorium this Sunday afternoon. The State Minister of Local Government said, “Some City Corporations have given a challenge to complete the removal of sacrificial animal waste within seven to eight hours. As Bogra is the city of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman, the new city corporation. That’s why I wholeheartedly believe that the Bogra City Corporation along with other city corporations will take up the challenge and remove all the waste of Qorbani within eight hours and give relief to the people of the city.

Highlighting various development plans of the government regarding Bogra City Corporation, Mir Shahe Alam said that the Prime Minister has already issued orders to beautify Bogra city. Among these, the process of forming Water Supply and Sewerage Authority or Bogra Wasa is ongoing in the metropolitan area. Soon WASA will take responsibility for water supply and sewage disposal in Bogra city. Apart from this, Bogra Development Authority (BOUK) is in the process of formation. Bogra Urbanization, New Town Construction will be looked after by Bogra Development Authority.
The Minister of State for Local Government said that Bogra Metropolitan Police (BMP) activities will start soon for the security of the city dwellers. During his next visit to Bogra, the Prime Minister will officially inaugurate Bogra Metropolitan Police, Bogra WASA, Bogra Development Authority, Bogra-Sirajganj railway line construction and Bogra Football Stadium. To resolve the traffic jam, air-conditioned bus service (town service) will be started by stopping the movement of all types of rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, vans and non-mechanical vehicles on the main road from Matidali in Bogra city. For this, an expert team of BUET under the leadership of Roads and Public Paths (SOAZ) Department inspected the surface of Banani to Matidali road and gave an opinion on the feasibility.

Referring to the removal of three railway gates from within the metropolis, Mir Shahe Alam said that the pressure on the city’s railway lines will increase if trains start running on the Sirajganj-Bogra railway. As the railway gate is closed, traffic congestion and suffering will increase. BUET’s expert team has directed the road department to examine the feasibility of constructing overpasses at the three railway gates. If the road department cannot construct the overpass due to financial problems, the overpass will be constructed with the money of the city corporation.
Bogra City Corporation Administrator M.R. Islam announced to complete the removal of all waste in the city by 8:00 PM on the day of Eid. Bogra-6 Constituency Member of Parliament and District BNP President Rezaul Karim, Bogra Deputy Commissioner Taufiqur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Sayem Mahmud and others were also present in the meeting.
