Daughter abducted in front of father in Uttara, rescued from Gazipur after 9 days

A class 10 student who was abducted in front of his father in Uttara of the capital was rescued by the police from Gazipur after 9 days. Lamin Islam (19), the mastermind of the kidnapping, has been arrested in connection with this. He is a resident of Rayerdia Ulukhola area of Kaliganj police station in Gazipur.
According to the police of Uttara Purba police station, the father was returning home with his daughter after the examination on April 22. At one stage, seven-eight miscreants including Lamin Islam snatched her daughter away from her father in a private car from Uttara Sector 6. In that incident, the father of the victim student filed a case under the Prevention of Women and Child Abuse Act at the Uttara Purba Police Station. The victim’s father mentioned in the case that after the examination, he left for home with his daughter. When Uttara reached Road No. 5 of Sector No. 6, 6 to 7 unidentified persons including Lamin Islam forcibly took his daughter in a car.

Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Division of Police, Mirza Tarek Ahmed told Prothom Alo that after a case was registered at the police station, the police started to rescue the student.
With the help of intelligence and information technology, the location of the mastermind of the kidnapping, Lamin Islam, was identified. On Friday afternoon, the student was rescued from Padhara Bait area of Pubail, Gazipur and the mastermind of the abduction, Lamine, was arrested. An operation is underway to arrest other accused involved in the kidnapping.
