Passenger boat suddenly sinks in Kaptai lake, 11 people including pregnant woman rescued

A boat capsized in Kaptai Lake of Rangamati Sadar Upazila. In this incident, the security forces rescued 11 people including a pregnant woman. The accident took place in Killa Pahar area of ​​Ward No. 2 of Balukhali Union of the upazila at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday.

Sadar Upazila administration said that there were 11 passengers in the boat. They were returning home after completing Baisuk (the main festival of the Tripura community). However, as all the passengers were on one side, the boat suddenly tilted and water started rising from the opposite side. Then it sinks. The place where the incident took place is 300 to 400 meters away from Rajmanipara army camp in Jurachhari zone of the district. When the member on duty in the camp saw the matter, he quickly informed the camp commander. Later, other members of the security forces came to the spot with a boat and rescued everyone.

According to the administration, there were 11 passengers including women, men and children in the boat. Among them was a pregnant woman. Later he was rushed to the hospital for better treatment. And the rest are safely handed over to their relatives with necessary assistance.
