Parliament passed ‘Cyber ​​Protection Bill-2026’

The ‘Cyber ​​Security Bill-2026’ has been passed by the National Parliament, repealing the ‘Cyber ​​Security Ordinance-2025’. This Bill was introduced to ensure cyber security and make provisions related to detection, prevention, suppression and prosecution of crimes in cyber space.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam introduced the bill in the National Parliament on Friday (April 10). Later the bill was passed by voice vote.

On this day, 20 bills were passed in the process of converting the ordinances issued during the interim government into permanent laws. Among them, 10 bills were passed in the morning session. The Bills were passed unanimously after proposals by the Ministers concerned as there were no phase-wise amendment proposals in any of the Bills and without any discussion.
