Official’s hanging body in factory storeroom, family alleges murder

The police recovered the hanging body of an officer named Idris Ali (45) from the storeroom of a garment factory in Fatulla of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. The family alleged that he was killed in a planned manner.
His body was recovered from the storeroom of Fariha Knit Tex Limited factory located in Baraibogh area of Enayetnagar Union of the upazila at around 10:30 am on Tuesday.

Idris Ali is the son of Abul Kashem of Gwaldi area of Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj. He was working as Assistant General Manager (AGM) of the factory.
Eyewitnesses and some workers of the factory said that they came to join work this morning and found the door of the factory closed. Later, he entered and found the hanging body of Idris Ali in the storeroom. On receiving the information, the police went and recovered the body. After this incident, the workers protested in front of the factory. They demanded punishment of the people involved in the incident.

The factory’s manager (security) Mohammad Monir Hossain said a worker saw the first body around 10 am. Later the police was informed.
Idris Ali’s younger brother Md. Jewell told reporters that Idris left for home in the factory car after his holiday on Monday afternoon. But as he did not return home at night, several attempts were made to contact him on his mobile phone, but there was no response. Later, when the factory authorities were contacted, they said that Idris was not in the factory.
Jewel also said, ‘This morning I heard that the body was found in the storeroom. My brother’s feet were planted on the ground. It’s not suicide, it’s premeditated murder.’ He had no reason to commit suicide. They said to take legal action in this incident.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fatulla Model Police Station Mahbub Alam told Prothom Alo that the hanging body of an officer was recovered from the garment storeroom. Initially it appears to be suicide. The body was recovered and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital (Victoria) morgue for autopsy. The actual cause of death will be known after the autopsy report.
The OC said that the workers protested to demand punishment of those involved in the incident. A holiday has been declared in the factory in this incident.
