After that, Nurul Alam gave the details of the two buffaloes. He said that these two buffaloes were collected because of their skin color. Two buffaloes are bought from Bhairav. He told Prothom Alo that he used to work in agriculture. Four or five years ago, he left agriculture and turned to farming. He started rearing cows and buffaloes. Three years ago a friend reported two pink colored buffaloes. After hearing this news, Bhairav ​​went. Likes to see. Bargained and bought it for 3 lakh 70 thousand taka and brought it to Chittagong.

Nurul Alam said that he did not let anyone outside the family see the two buffaloes even though he reared them on his own farm in the village for three years. According to him, buffaloes are very sensitive. So he was very careful while rearing. Human opinion is not understood. So no one outside was allowed to see. He kept it in his farm all the time. Didn’t take it out. There was an electric fan on hot days. There was no shortage of care.

Generally, the skin color of buffalo is thick black or dark grey. But sometimes there are different colors. Chittagong District Livestock Officer in relation to the pink colored buffalo. Due to the disproportionate presence of a type of pigment called melanin in the skin, the color of the buffalo is white or pink instead of black. It is not a buffalo disease.

Last Wednesday, Nurul Alam brought two buffaloes from the farm of the village to the animal market of Chittagong city. Since then, people have been bargaining for buffaloes one after another. So far, the price of two buffaloes is 11.5 lakh taka. The price of one is six lakhs, the other is five and a half lakhs. However, the buyers have not yet paid that price. Some of them say six lakh, some seven lakh taka. Nurul Alam is not satisfied with the price of buyers.

Nurul Alam said that he raised two buffaloes with a lot of love and care. A lot of money was spent on food and accommodation. worked hard There has been trouble. Therefore, the price has been set at 11 and a half lakh taka. Will watch until the last moment. If it is 10 lakhs, you will give it. If a buyer buys two buffaloes together, one buffalo will be given free of cost.

In addition to these two buffaloes, Nurul Alam brought another buffalo and a cow to this market. However, not a single animal was sold till Monday evening. However, he hopes that it will be sold within the next day.

Although the markets are crowded to see the pink colored buffaloes, the market as a whole is not yet crowded. Traders from different regions of the country as well as from different upazilas of Chittagong have come to the market with a lot of cows. The market is also ready for buyers. But they meet less.

Trader Mohammad Shahed brought 35 cows. All but a few of his cows are of medium size. Others are larger in size. Was having a lazy afternoon. No buyers. When asked about the condition of the market, he said, last year at such a time people and people; But now it looks empty. Only 7 out of 35 cows were sold. It was also taken by known persons. Last time, out of 65 cows, 20-22 were sold. He said, considering the situation in the country and abroad, money seems less to people. So there is no rush of buyers in the market. Others are offering unusually low bids.

Mosharraf Hossain brought 45 small cows from Bhola. Today they came to the market with people. But not sold yet. However, he is not disappointed with this. Prothom Aloke Musharraf said that there is a demand for the price of cows that he has brought. All will be sold by tomorrow.

It has been seen that the number of big cows is less this time. Compared to the previous year, more small-sized cows came to the market. There are also plenty of medium-sized cows. Traders said, so far, the demand for medium-sized cows is high among buyers.

The lessee of Karnaphuli animal market said. Ibrahim said to Prothom Alo that the market is a bit late in the city. Two or three days before Eid, sales are mostly high. There is a lot of trouble with keeping cows and feeding them. This is why people buy cows at the last minute. So they have prepared.

There are three permanent and seven temporary haats in Chittagong city. The lessees said that the sale is gradually increasing in the markets other than the Karnaphuli animal market. However, they said that the main sale will continue two days before Eid.
