Motorcyclist killed in Chatkhil road crash

A 24-year-old mobile technician died late Friday night after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a parked truck in the Dashgharia area of Chatkhil, Noakhali. The victim, Nazim Hossain, succumbed to his injuries in an ambulance while being transported to Dhaka for advanced medical care.
Nazim, a resident of Parakot Union, was traveling with a neighbor, Mohammad Abir, toward Dighirpar to get tea when the motorcycle lost control and struck the rear of the stationary vehicle. The force of the impact destroyed the motorcycle and left both men critically injured. Local residents initially rushed them to the Ramganj Upazila Health Complex, but medical professionals referred them to a specialized facility in Dhaka due to the severity of their condition. Abir remains hospitalized in Dhaka, where he is currently receiving treatment.

According to those who knew him, Nazim had been working as a mobile phone technician in the Chatkhil municipal market for three years. He had stepped down from his position just one day prior to the incident, harboring ambitions to enroll in a professional technical training program in the capital to master the repair of high-end electronic gadgets, including iPhones.
Local police confirmed that they arrived at the scene shortly after the incident following reports from residents. Chatkhil Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Monnaf stated that while the family had not formally registered a complaint, authorities are monitoring the situation and intend to initiate legal proceedings following discussions with the victim’s relatives.
