Motorcycle collision with tree, former councilor killed

Humayun Karib Sagar (37), a former councilor of Ward No. 9 of Jhalkathi municipality, was killed in a motorcycle accident at Nalchiti in Jhalkathi. His fellow biker Sohail, a businessman of Jhalkathi Station Road, was seriously injured in the accident.
The accident occurred when the motorcycle lost control and collided with a tree.
The accident took place on Sunday (April 12) around 1.30 pm in Raipur of Nalchiti Upazila on the Barisal-Khulna Regional Highway.
It is known that on the way back from Barisal to Jhalkathi, the motorcycle lost control and collided with a tree on the side of the road in Raipur area of the upazila. The councilor along with the driver fell on the road and got seriously injured. Locals rescued them and took them to Barisal Sherbangla Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared former councilor Humayun Kabir Sagar dead. The motorcyclist, Sohel, who was seriously injured, is undergoing treatment at the hospital in a coma.
Nalchiti Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Ashraf Ali confirmed the matter and said that the police went to the spot. Further legal action is pending in this regard.
