Measles will be under control if vaccination is given in two cities of Dhaka: Health Minister

Measles vaccination program has started in two city corporations of Dhaka. Health Minister Sardar said that measles disease will be under control if vaccination is given according to the target in these two cities. Sakhawat Hossain.

The health minister said, “The current government is expanding the vaccination program due to the increase in the prevalence of measles across the country. If vaccination is completed in two cities of Dhaka, measles can be brought under control.

Regarding dengue, he said, “The prevalence of dengue will increase in the future. The government has already started working on dengue. Also, there is no alternative to people’s awareness.

 Meanwhile, State Minister of Health Dr. at the inauguration of the measles and rubella vaccination campaign of Dhaka South City Corporation in Karail of the capital. MA Muhith said, ‘If you want to make the emergency campaign successful, make this campaign successful with organizational strength in every area with everyone from all levels. This campaign is an opportunity for politicians. You go door to door and give information about the vaccination program.

He also said, ‘Children aged up to 59 months must be vaccinated. Measles cannot be prevented by just getting your child vaccinated. It can be prevented only if immunity is created in the group.

 Emergency vaccination program started in 30 upazilas of 18 high-risk districts of the country from last April 5. This measles-rubella vaccination program has started today in four city corporation areas including Dhaka. About 12 lakh 20 thousand children aged 6 months to 5 years will be vaccinated in two cities of Dhaka. This program will run from 8 am to 4 pm every day except holidays. Vaccination program will start simultaneously across the country on April 20.
