Man Arrested for Rape of Six-Year-Old Girl in Dhaka Shah Ali Area

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man in the capital’s Shah Ali police station area on charges of raping a six-year-old child. The suspect, identified as Suman, was taken into custody late Thursday night following the incident, which reportedly occurred on Wednesday.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. According to Mohammad Aktar Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the assault took place on Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of the Royal City Pocket Gate in the Shah Ali area.
Following the incident, the child’s mother initially transported her to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for a medical examination. After physicians confirmed that the child had been raped, she was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for specialized care.
Authorities stated that the child’s mother filed a formal rape case against Suman at the local police station. Acting on the complaint, law enforcement officials conducted a raid on Thursday night and arrested the suspect at his residence.
