Kishoreganj Jail Superintendent Transferred Following Viral Audio Alleging Misconduct

Authorities have transferred the superintendent of Kishoreganj District Jail, Mohammad Didarul Alam, following the emergence of an audio recording on social media that allegedly features him engaging in lewd conversations and making inappropriate propositions to a female prison guard.
The Department of Prisons issued an official order on Wednesday, signed by Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motahar Hossain. Under the directive, Alam has been reassigned to the position of prison instructor at the Rajshahi Prison Training Center.
The audio recording, which sparked widespread public criticism and controversy, captured the superintendent purportedly directing offensive comments toward a female subordinate. The viral nature of the recording prompted immediate administrative action by prison authorities.
To manage operations in his wake, the Department of Prisons has appointed Mohammad Anwarul Karim, the superintendent of the Hospitalized Prisoners Security Unit at Chittagong Jail, to oversee the Kishoreganj facility.
Upon assuming his new responsibilities, Karim confirmed that he had been assigned to the role on an emergency basis and officially joined the post on Wednesday. He declined to comment on the specific administrative grounds for his predecessor’s transfer.
Attempts to reach Mohammad Didarul Alam for comment were unsuccessful, as his mobile phone remained powered off.
