“I don’t understand, listen for my son or handle his mouth”

Hasibur Rahman (23), a student of Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat, went abroad to fulfill his life’s dream. That dream did not come true. He was seriously injured in a road accident in South Korea yesterday Saturday midnight Bangladesh time. He died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Hasibur Rahman is a resident of Maheshpur village in Jindarpur union of Kalai upazila of Joypurhat. He was a student at Jeonbuk University in South Korea.

On his way back home after work on Saturday, Hasibur was seriously injured when he was hit by a private car while crossing the road riding an electric scooter. Later taken to a hospital there. He was on life support there. He died while undergoing treatment at around 8 am this morning due to severe brain injuries.
According to the family, Hasibur went to South Korea in December 2023 with the dream of higher education. He had a dream to stand by his family by working alongside his studies. He got married just four months before going abroad. A new family, higher education and the dream of making the family prosperous – all in all, he had a bright future ahead of him. He died in an accident on his way home after working abroad. A Bangladeshi friend of Hasibur in South Korea informed the family about his death. Hasibur’s friends who were there told his family that they are trying to complete the necessary legal procedures to send his body home as soon as possible.

Hasibur’s classmate Mahmudul Hasan said, ‘My friend Hasibur had a big dream. He studied and worked. Besides building his own future, he had a strong desire to do something for his family. It didn’t happen anymore.
Nizabul Islam, Hasibur’s father, said in a tearful voice, “How many dreams were there in my heart, but everything has ended!” I don’t understand, listen for my son or handle his mouth.’
